One of the nicest and most cozy places to grab a sweet treat to enjoy on a rainy day or any day period. Come for the food and atmosphere. It’s definitely unique and one of a kind. The outdoor seating is also pretty awesome! Can’t go wrong with indoor or outdoors here.
Very busy. We showed up at 6 on a Thursday and there was a line out the door which seems pretty typical. We waited about 30 minutes to order. The line inside gives you time to browse their options, of which there are many. At least 30 different cakes to choose from, as well some pies, quiche, cookies, brownies, and cookie pastries. There was a good selection of about six vegan cakes, and a couple gluten free options too. Our group tried the Apple cinnamon cake, the banana pudding cake, carrot cake, pineapple and coconut cake, key lime cake, red velvet cake, and a lemon curd cupcake. We enjoyed every one. The prices varied a little but were about $8 for a slice, and $4 for cupcakes. They offer free water cups in a dispenser in their indoor seating area. Since it was a nice day there were people sitting outside, but their interior pleasant and divided enough for groups. We had kids with us so we chose the large table near the fireplace which was setup with some baskets of toys and books for children. We enjoyed the visit and will stop by for desserts again in the future.
Maxie B’s is such a great spot for desserts, they’ve never disappointed. One of my favorite cakes is the Humming bird cake and I haven’t seen it anywhere but here. I’ve also ordered whole cakes here and they follow the instructions to a T with very clear communication. The most recent order I placed was for my nephews first birthday and it was perfect. They also have cookies and cupcakes. When I went to pick up the cake, they also had samples out to try a few of their desserts.
Beautiful location and welcoming environment and staff. I was truly impressed with the amount of cakes, cookies and cupcakes. I believe they have gluten free options as well. I was welcomed into the chic location by a few members of the staff to ensure I was taken care of. I ordered a total of five cupcakes, carrot cake, an old fashioned, red velvet, vanilla and Oreo. I love the carrot cake and will definitely make sure I go get another one before I leave. I wasn't necessarily overly impressed with the Oreo as it didn't seem as fresh as the others. Everyone else did like the others. As an out of towner, I didn't know how much things cost-I probably would've purchased more desserts had the prices been posted. There were no menus posted or available (I asked).
Best cake I have ever eaten in my life. There is no bad flavor at all. Extremely moist with quality ingredients. I cannot speak highly enough! Worth the drive!
Got some cupcakes this time, vanilla with sprinkles, chocolate with sprinkles, and then a vanilla one with strawberry. The service and hospitality here is always top notch, the young ladies were very sweet and attentive. Also extremely knowledgeable and efficient, there’s a reason I’ve been a frequent visitor for years.
Hummingbird cake, I love it. I think this is the only place aside of a church bake sale you can get some! This was my birthday cake choice so everyone could pick their own slice flavor and it did not disappoint!! I would suggest on busy days they put a satellite counter for preorders to pick up-one lady in line was very concerned about being late to a party not expecting a line 30ft out the door down the sidewalk! So worth the wait!!
I see why Maxie B's is viewed as a premium bakery. I went there to grab a red velvet slice for a coworker/friend. I tried their strawberry shortcake sample that was left out. Even though the cake was slightly dry (from sitting out) it was sooo delicious I can't wait to go back and get a fresh slice. The atmosphere is cute too. I will literally drive 30-35 minutes just for a slice. I may start a tradition and order my own birthday cake from them.
A Slice of Heaven & Perfect Comfort! This bakery is a absolute gem! They have a huge collection of cakes, pies, and cookies, and as much as I want to walk in and try every single one, I just can't get past their German chocolate cake. It is our absolute family favorite and a must-try! Beyond the incredible treats, the ambiance here is unmatched. It has the cutest, most relaxing setup .There’s even a puzzle table, tables are spaced out, cutely, decorated, making it the perfect spot for sitting, relaxing, and collecting your thoughts. There’s usually a line to get your bakery items, but From my experience, most people would just take their food to go. They’re missing out I love eating in!
The girls were so sweet. It was my first time and they could tell , there’s so many options. It smelt amazing in the bakery! I got the strawberry cream cheese, poundcake hands-down the best poundcake I’ve ever had in my entire life. I will be back. Update 5-20-26 I have been here a crazy amount and everything I’ve had has been delicious. I’ve had hummingbird, red velvet, blueberry crumble, devil foods, chocolate, red velvet, birthday, lemon poundcake, regular pound cake and all have been 10/10!!! I plan on trying everything while I’m here on my work contract!
